Description | It is a relatively common dermatosis, often occurring in children and elderly patients. Microbial eczema develops on skin that has suffered secondary weakening. It is often understood as a sign of late, cellmediated oversensitivity to the presence of some microorganisms on the skin. The typically developed skin changes have the appearance of bullseyes, with up to 5cm or more in diameter. Treatment of microbial eczema always needs to have an antimicrobial basis, coupled with antiinflammatory preparations. |
