Description | The contribution addresses multilingualism in German language teaching after English. The main research aim is to describe how teaching situations in which use of the first foreign language (English as L2) in the second foreign language lessons (German as L3) is evident are organized. The method of analysis – conversation analysis – and its theoretical background is characterized as well as the unit of analysis, i.e. the teaching situation. Results suggest that the structure of the identified teaching situations mostly follows the IRF pattern (initiation – response – feedback) in various modifications. |
