Description Our verified method focuses on the detection of pathogens that are transmissible viab ticks worldwide and thus presents the risk for humans. Reservoirs of these microorganisms are wild small to medium sized mammals. Our goal is to develop a multiple PCR method to detect the DNA of selected pathogens and thereby find the infection at an early stage and allow timely treatment. The aim is to verify and optimize the method of detecting several tick-borne pathogens in a single tick sample using multiple PCR. The term verification means verification of the effectiveness of this method for the qualitative determination of pathogens (Anaplasma phagocytophilum (causing human granulocytic anaplasmosis), Babesia sp. (babesiosis), Bartonella sp. (bartonellosis), Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (Lyme borreliosis), Coxiella burnetii), Ehrlichia chaffeensis (human monocytic ehrlichiosis), Francisella tularensis (tularemia) and Rickettsia sp. (rickettsiosis) in the sample.
