Description | Aspheric spectacle lenses belongs among the results of the improvement of the production technology and compared to the spherical designs, they are thinner, flatter, they have a lower weight, allow the natural look of the eyes and their construction should improve the image on the edge of the lens. The partial results show that some adaptation to aspheric lenses is necessary to improve visual performance over spherical surfaces. The central visual acuity (1,0) and visual acuity for 30° (1,0) were achieved after adaptation with 100% of patients with both types of lenses. Aspherical designs had less impact on image deformation in more than half of the cases. Finally, half of the patients chose aspherical lenses to their glasses, which points out the individual access to every patient. |
