| Description | Synesthesia is the association of the perceptions of two or more bodily senses. This is a rare condition that occurs in two to four percent of the population and is up to six times more common in women. While most people distinguish individual qualities of perception, ie shape perceives as shape, taste as taste and color as color, synesthetics can theoretically connect any two senses together. More than sixty variations of color, taste, touch and sound combinations are described. |
