| Description | The catalog presents the painter Michael Hon, as an output and addition of his practical diploma thesis at the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University. The publication presents two exhibitions in two different spaces (Simply – Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region and Immanence – Pitevna Gallery, Exhibition space of the Masaryk University Archives, Brno). Within the context of painter Michael Hon's long-term interest in the formal aspects of painting, meaning the morphology of the hung painting. Here, Hon presents paintings from his most recent series Skins and Structures, which continue in the same vein as his previous work. In these works, Hon has stripped painting of its illusiveness, narrative content, and attempt at making an emotional impact on the viewer. The viewer's ingrained habits in the area of sensory perception are just some of the fundamental concepts that Hon explores in his most recent reflections on art. |
