Description | Presented paper conducts ongoing doctoral research and presents social life in small rural town during so called normalization era. Doctoral research is focused on changes of social life in the Moravian countryside during second part of 20th century. Important part of research is interest in processes and influences, which formed (collective) spending of leisure time – phenomena new and not so established especially in rural areas. Issues of social ties in local or wider space, import of influences from city to the countryside and specifics of their subsequent development are also discussed. It is taken to the context of traditional / mass / popular / “official” or also alternative culture. Research is conducted in two places – small town and couple of little villages in the south-western Moravia. First half of 70s in this locations will be interpreted from oral history interviews and also archive sources. |
