| Description | To introduce his topic, the author comments on several 20th century Czech writers whose books featured animals, such as Rudolf Těsnohlídek, Jan Vrba, Jaroslav Hubálek, Karel Nový, Jaromír Tomeček, Josef Prchal, and František Fric. Stanislav Reiniš (1879–1955) was one of them as well. In the present study, the focus is on the life and work of Reiniš, with a special interest in the novel about a female badger, Poustevnice z Humensk (The Hermit of Humenská, 1935). |
