| Description | Acne is a highly heterogenous disorder with relation to predilection localisation, with typical lesions and adequate therapy response. Although the greatest incidence of acne is in pubertal period, there are known cases of disease genesis both in neonatal and in adult. There exist a number of variations of acne in addition to basic forms of this disease. Acne vulgaris is a chronic noninfectious inflammatory androgen-dependent disease of pilosebaceous unit. Its pathogenesis is multifactorial and number of therapies are available, which include topical, systemic and physical treatment. The therapy is usually combined to focus on all etiological factors. |
