Description | In the Middle Neolithic, the distribution network has changed in favor of local or spatially not very widely available raw materials. With the exception of the obsidian at some sites in the Weinviertel, raw materials distributed from long distances appear in a few pieces only and moreover mostly in the form of blades and retouched tools. These are artefacts made from south Bavarian Abensberg-Arnhofen stripped chert, Krakow Jurassic chert, “Chocolate chert" from the middle Weichsel region as well as Transdanubian Radiolarites (mainly Szentgál radiolarit) from northwestern Hungary. |
