| Description | The article follows uo on a similar paper, published in the Proceedings of the Faculty of Education MU (PdF MU), in 1999. At that time, we summarized the results of ourresearch activities for the first decade of the field research in 1986-1995. However, the work is still ongoing and has brought a lot of new knoledge about the importance and status of the Stronghold, as the centre of power of the Great Moravian Empire. So, we come up with another clear processing of our scientific research activities on the site. It means during the second decade of the research, from 1996-2005, when we conducted 40 major research projects and besides them a number of small field surveys. In a review of our activities, it is encessary to mention, in addition to our own archaeological works, other activities in which both our students and graduates are involved, either teaching or spending their leisure time. It is all about building and gradual expension of an archaeological base, building a museum with a permanent exhibition and a form of experimental archaeology and building a small archaeological open-air museum of Great Moravia. |
