Description In the recent past, it would be completely unthinkable to use the term "artificial reproduction" in practical terms, because the human conception was considered to be a natural and inherently sacred process during the whole existence of human species and society. On the other hand from the year 1978 we can talk about the use of completely new biomedical technologies, thanks to which the beginning of life is not inherently connected only with the physical act between man and woman, but also with the artificial production of man in laboratory. As a result, there are not only many unresolved ethical questions but also the transformation of the traditional significance and functioning of social institutes and sociological terms, which were seamlessly used in the family law area. The aim of the paper will be to point out that the current and often unregulated direction of reproductive medicine has a major impact not only on the legal status of the unborn child, but also on the legal regulation and proper functioning of the family as a basic unit of state and society.
