Description | Chair of the sesssion Fluid Boundaries in Mediterranean Literature. Motto: “Where sea and land greet / a living Mandala / a magic carpet / a sacred mosaic.” (Numinous by Yahia Lababidi) The panel discusses crossing the borders and dissolving the boundaries in the literatures of the Mediterranean basin. Fluidity of the borders discussed in individual contributions looks upon the notion of the borders from different perspectives; geographical, religious, cultural, social, ethnic or genological. The papers reflect on the fluid boundaries in Ancient literature, as well as in other literatures of the Mediterranean that followed; Italian and French Baroque literature, Greek avant-garde, concluding with the Lebanese and Palestinian women fiction. |
