Description | The paper based on period archival sources collects and analyzes examples of meaningful media manipulation and targeted social leveling typical for the officially shared image of the artwork in socialist Czechoslovakia between 1948 and 1960. Also discuss the role of its creator, collector and recipient. It does not deal with the content and the formal aspect of the artwork, but tries to draw attention to socially shared communication codes and some consensual assumptions, with manipulation and spreading of the artwork in this period paradigmatically connected. |
