Description The article deals with members of the Dvořák and Dvořáček families in the Moravian village of Jiříkovice in the 19th century. Both families were closely interconnected, and a compiled genealogical tree serve to understand the relationship. On the basis of family inheritance and archive materials was depicted the life stories of individual family members and their involvement in public life in the village. Strong family backgrounds have created links to other generations that have been able to continue in their ancestors' entrepreneurship. In the second half of the century, Mikuláš Dvořák not only operated a pub, but also led a tailor's craft and managed his fields. Similarly, his grandson, Jakub Dvořáček, stayed at the pub bussiness but he also worked as farmer. Maintaining other gainful activity at the same time has eventually proved to be an existential necessity. Dvořák and Dvořáček family created a community space for social enjoyment and comfort of the community. Unfortunately, for the lack of ego-documents, was not yet been able to find out the manner how the owners of the pub have built their business and their relationship with neighbors.
