Ring, 1959, Silver reminisce, 1997), Václav Kosmák (1843-1898) Ruth Elias (1922-2008; Naděje mi pomohla přežít, angl. origin Triumph of Hope 1988; Czech translation 1994). (R. Elias spent some time in the time of the Second World war in Pozořice, where her Jewish family got a help; later she was sent to the Theresienstadt ghetto and then concentration camp where she survived Mengele´s experimentations.) Bohumil Hrabal (1914-1997) belongs to Pozořice region, too (his grandmother Kateřina Kiliánová, born Bartlová, came from Pozořice-Jezera). |
