Description The author of the present study deals with the impact of Russian literature and literary criticism upon the world development of literature and literary criticism, especially prose, critical evaluation of literature, history and theory of literature in the course of the 19th-21st centuries. The subject which seems to be too extensive and wide-ranging focuses only on several aspects that had the most profound importance for the development of the literary world as such. The author proceeds from his own conception of the pre-post effect expressing a specific trajectory of the anomalous/specific development of Russian literature which since the 19 century has been inspiring the world literary process in the period of its Golden and Silver Ages (Romanticism, Realism, Modernism) and later of Soviet times and in the years of the prevailing postmodernism and quasi-postmodernism. Especiallly the specific features of the Russian novel are mentioned, the critical evaluation of Russian Soviet literature in the articles by Alfred Bem and the significance of the Russian and Soviet schools of literary criticism.
