| Description | The paper deals with various aspects of Moravian, the language that should be, according to the common understanding, be typical for Moravia. It shows the vagueness of this understanding. On the background of historical circumstances including the most recent changes in Moravian movements, it is shown to what extent we can count with the Moravian nationality, to which Moravian would serve. Next, the paper pays attention to linguistic and sociolinguistic aspects of the topic and shows and evaluates the efforts to constitute this language on the background of general processes on cultural language formations. It ends with a summary of the language situation in Moravia, where Moravian does not have any anchoring or a body of persons interested in its introduction to the expressive practice. The paper is supplemented with a comprehensive bibliography of sources. |
