Description The author of the present study reflects upon the relation of politics and literature from Plato to Masaryk and to a more contemporary forms of this relation in František Kautman. He demonstrates how literature serves politics, its manipulation and how politics influences its structure and ethical foundations. He analyzes its role of service, negation, partnership, and alliance, and, at the same time, parallelism of both components reflecting the principal changes of our world and the formation of a „new human“ as a threat of his/her biological substance. He also presents the literary currents which try to resist it.
