Description | This article focuses on frequency and accuracy of dependent prepositions complementing prepositional verbs in CZEMATELC 2017, a corpus consisting of 390 essays from the written part of the national high-stake exam leading to certification of secondary education in the Czech Republic. The research findings reveal that the tendency to confuse verbs with similar or related meanings appears to be responsible for more inaccurate instances of dependent prepositions than mother-tongue influence. |
