Description The collective monograph is dedicated to the cultural and historic legacy of the Anthropos Pavilion in Brno. The book consists of three relatively independent parts in which their authors map and interpret scientific and research activities linked with this institution. 90 years of the museum Anthropos: The transformations of the museum at the time of the First Czechoslovak Republic is the first study in which Petr Kostrhun discusses the origins and history of the Anthropos Museum, its appearance and activities including its key personalities. The study describes the establishment of the museum from the creation of the exposition Mankind and his Family at the Exhibition of Contemporary Culture in Brno in 1928 to the Pavilion of the City of Prague (1930–1934) to the Moravia Pavilion (1934–1945). The study is the first to discuss the era of Anthropos in the times of the First Czechoslovak Republic in such a vast extent drawing on the archival sources and photographs that have preserved. It also evidences the fact that the Anthropos Museum enjoyed great attention of experts and of the general public in the interwar period when it became a distinctive phenomenon among Czechoslovak museums.
