Description | This paper focuses on similarities in topics present in various ancient sources on magic, including curse tablets, Greek magical papyri and accounts of classical authors. In all these sources four main topics can be found - legal matters, agonistic matters, love matters and prayers for justice (dealings with thieves). Similarities between these sources prove that they were all part of one ancient tradition with specific rules. |
