| Description | Shock is a life-threatening generalized acute circulatory failure associated with and insufficient oxygen utilization by cells (cellular dysfunction, dysoxia), which is associated with elevated lactate levels. Early diagnostics and rapid aggressive therapy are most important in shock management. The goal of therapy is to normalize the oxygen supply (fluids, vasopressors, catecholamines, blood transfusions, oxygen) with respect to acute oxygen and energy consumption. |
