Description | Parents, school, environment, and so on contribute to the perception of the world and the formation of the individual. And in this case, we need culture, language and literature to educate a nation. The language is the initial phase of forming national identity, the most important component without which we can’t understand culture and literature. This formula would be ideal: parents talk in some language, read fairy tales in which there are elements of culture, celebrate holidays and learn traditions, go to school where this language is learn- ed, the history of this nation, etc. What happens if the territory will be part of more than one state in a single century? What if the question of nationality is the only solution to the name of the hometown? These reflections partly reveal in the novel of Ukrainian writer Maxim Dupeshko. |
