| Description | It is a vital part of the principles governing the public bodies to deal with the cases without undue delays. The Misdemeanour Liability Act as well as the Administrative Proceedings Code entail many provisions setting forth the periods of limitation – the public bodies have to manage to make particular steps within these periods. The author of the article, as a lawyer in the Office of the Public Defender of Rights, regularly encounters the cases, where the bodies failed to prevent undue delays. Therefore, article aims not only at the provisions stipulating the periods of limitation, but also at the consequences thereof (i. e., how it can affect parties to the proceedings, individuals harmed by a misdemeanour and those, who have reported the misdemeanour). |
