Description | The chapter focuses on the position of so-called societal values, ie principles such as ensuring satisfaction of basic life needs for all and elimination of large income differences. These are the principles to which all developed countries of the world are committed to maintaining social peace. The authors work with competing interpretative frameworks that take into account the contradictions of these principles with the principles of everyday morality, such as merit and reciprocity of contributions, and test the supposed positive mission of higher (university) education in promoting these values. They also take into account the influence of social and political discourse, which has marginalized, if not stigmatized, the social values of the former regime in recent decades. |
