Description | Psoriasis can be associated with a number of other diseases. One of them is also multiple sclerosis (MS). Treatment of psoriasis in patients with MS and vice versa treatment of MS in psoriatic patients carries some pitfalls that are good to know. In particular, some drugs used to treat one disease may provoke or aggravate the other disease (eg anti-TNF agents in psoriasis may provoke MS and, conversely, interferon ? or the biologics natalizumab and rituximab used for multiple sclerosis treatment may cause or worsen psoriasis). However, there are also drugs that can favorably affect both diseases, especially fumarates, fingolimod, some phosphodiesterase inhibitors, or the biologic alemtuzumab or secukinumab. |
