Description | This book analyses all the institutional rights of the opposition in the National Council of the Slovak Republic and in Lower Chamber of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in period from 1992 to 2016. Main subject of the analysis is following institutional factors: legislative initiative; amendments of Parliamentary Rules of Procedure; selection of parliamentary offices; voting on confidence and non-confidence of the government or its member; usage of parliamentary questions and interpellations; constitutional review, and initiation of a referendum. Through assessing these opportunities, the book provides an analysis of their usage in each country in time but also a comparison of usage of the rights of parliamentary opposition vis-á-vis the government in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. |
