| Description | The article presents a cross-border Interreg project called BIG (Educational Cooperations in the Border Region), in which the children in kindergartens in the border regions acquire the respective neighboring languages in lifelike speaking situations. The language is offered to them in everyday situations in which the children need to understand the target language and act in it. They have their own speaking intentions and pursue their own goals and intentions. The neighboring language is experienced in this way in an authentic form. |
