The paper briefly explains the concept and the rationale for the use of PPPs as an alternative financing instrument to attract private finance in the implementation of public infrastructure investment. Following this, the paper summarises existing experience with the use of PPPs worldwide and in its core part tries to identify core factors and barriers of successful implementation of PPPs using primary research by authors. The paper contributes by adding invaluable knowledge in the financing of public infrastructure investment by conveying important insights in the implementation of PPPs. |
