Description | The concept of squeeze-out has been a subject to many academic debates since its implementation into the Czech legal system in 2005. Certain of its aspects have been subsequently addressed in case law, but not all of them. Despite the new Civil Code and Corporations Act having brought certain novelties and improvements in 2014, many of the practical problems relating to squeeze-outs remain. One of them is the issue of default interest. Default interest is in certain cases awarded to claimants even on the surcharge over the original consideration, which, however, goes against the applicable law and the purpose of the squeeze-out court review. |
