Description In contrast to the decreasing mortality rates observed with cardiovascular disease (CVD), mortality rates with diabetes increased by 68% in Czechia, in the last decade. The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists developed a new framework termed Dysglycemia-Based Chronic Disease (DBCD), a multimorbidity care model consisting of 4 distinct stages along the insulin resistance-prediabetes-type 2 diabetes (T2D)-CVD spectrum, prompting a complication-centric, rather than a glucocentric approach. This paper presents the prevalence rates and associated risk factors of each DBCD stage.
