| Description | This chapter of that book aims to describe the frequency trends in blend word formations, focusing on frequency of blended (a) historisms and (b) neologisms in the last 15 years in comparison to the frequency of their founding phrases. Frequency tracking of such expressions in the Czech National Corpus revealed that in recently published texts, blended neologisms have increased in use faster than the frequency of the corresponding phrases and also that some blended historisms have a higher frequency than the corresponding phrases, which are concurrently decreasing in use. |
