Description The agricultural sector must prepare for and adapt to the impacts of climate change, e.g. by cultivating alternative crops. Realistically, climate change will most likely facilitate the cultivation of Burgundy truffle in the Czech Republic, generating a wide range of ecological and economic benefits. However, with currently unknown distribution, the Burgundy truffle is listed among critically endangered species. This article examines both current Czech legislation and the limitations it generates to potential truffle cultivation and the enormous level of associated uncertainty regarding the scope of its protection.
