Description | The Czech and Moravian Borderlands encountered after WW2 the almost completed exchange of the population. The resettlement was guided with the attempt to build the new identity characterized by the ideology emphasizing the claim of social and cultural purification, mainly in the ethnic sense. The chapter examines how and to which extent came to the reflections, adopting and symbolic transformations of the local cultural and historical traditions, mainly narrowly linked to the German population. Focused are two towns disposing of the strong genius loci and the rich historical narrative and historical culture. |
