Description | Weinberger is well-known for his theory of institutions as well as for his contribution to the logic of norms. The underlying concept of these accounts, as well as of many others, is for Weinberger that of norm. Positing such an entity in the sphere of practical reasoning is, however, not unproblematic. In particular, Weinberger’s proposal to construct a specific system of normlogic requires adequate philosophical grounding of the concept of norm. This paper particularly examines whether phenomenology can provide such grounding, considering that Weinberger appears to have employed some of its concept as a starting point. |
