| Description | If one wants to think and rethink the notion of metamorphosis and transfiguration in literature, it would be interesting to see what becomes of an already existing literary figure and to see how he is subjected to the transfiguration of the narrative structure, all as, moreover, the story on which he depends, at the moment when he becomes the subject of another genre. The object of our interest is the first volume of the fantasy series The Witcher (1980) by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (1948). The book is composed of tales inspired by world-famous tales, such as Snow White or Beauty and the Beast, and Slavic folk tales. |
