Description | The art-historical study was written on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of Prof. Ladislav Kessner. The interpretive text focuses on the painting by contemporary visual artist Natalia Perkof from the series Manual of Nature (2019). It looks at it primarily from the point of view of the affective impact of art on the viewer, placing it in the context of the currently prevailing line of artistic expression, which is characterised by a more subtle, poetic way of conveying ambiguous contents and mental states. Natalie Perkof has long been concerned with the theme of human identity in contemporary society, which is to a large extent related to the author's split between the traditions of the Moravian countryside and her Ghanaian origin. |
