Description The built-in physical sensing sensors in smartphones can be used in physics experiments, which in pandemic times is a significant advantage for students' remote lab work. Smartphones allow students to take measurements themselves in their everyday activities and thus become naturally familiar with a range of physical quantities. In doing so, they also learn about many of the general pitfalls of experimentation, analysis and interpretation of results. In this paper, I will show a selection of the available applications for school experiments and point out those that are not tuned for physical measurements and may cause confusion.
