| Description | A pilgrim walking through the medieval landscape experiences a very specific sense of time. The rhythm of his life synchronises with the landscape and the artistic production he encounters. A key place on the pilgrimage route to Santiago is the medieval town of Conques, where pilgrims have been going for nearly one thousand three hundred years and have experienced unique encounters. The project that this lecture aims to present aims to enter into a comprehensive and interdisciplinary discussion about this unique place. Specialists from five countries and a wide variety of disciplines have been invited to combine the knowledge and skills of the humanities with those of the technical and natural sciences. Thanks to generous support from the H2020 MSCA-Rise programme, similarly ambitious research is now possible. |
