Description | Zdeněk Pospíšil (1944–1993), creator of the legendary production Ballad for a Bandit (1975), was, together with Eva Tálská and Peter Scherhaufer, not only the first graduates of the renewed field of directing at the JAMU in Brno, but also the founders of the Goose on a String Theater, its Children's Studio and tribal directors. While the professional theatrological public paid attention to his two colleagues and their staging work, at least through partial studies, in the case of Zdeněk Pospíšil the situation is quite different. It is also related to Pospíšil's life destinies - leaving for Swiss emigration and a failed post-revolutionary attempt to transform the Prague Musical Theater in Karlín into a musical scene of European significance, which eventually resulted in a personal tragedy. The publication seeks to fill the gap and, in a broader context, maps his life and artistic career as a whole for the first time. |
