Description | The history of the acceptance of Kepler´s laws between his publication and Newton´s Principia was ambiguous and complicated. Some of the leading astronomers of the Europe were dissatisfied with Kepler´s laws. The exemplary Boulliau accepted elliptical orbits, but with a different laws of motion of planet from Kepler´s, where he attempted to use the inverse square law by an optical analogy between light and power. Definite recognition of the validity of Kepler´s laws occured after the publication Newton´s Principia, in which Newton explained s dynamical theory of planetary motion. |
