Description | As the second premiere of this season, the ballet ensemble of the Brno National Theater presented the production Beethoven, which was postponed for almost a year. The artistic director, choreographer and director Mário Radačovský felt it his duty to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, which has happened only now, with a year's delay, due to the pervasive pandemic situation. On the stage of the Janáček Theater in collaboration with the orchestra, soloists and the opera ensemble, Radačovský had a set of thirteen Beethoven pieces (symphonic movements, piano sonatas, piano concertos) of a grandiose musical masterpiece, grafted on by love or family scenes illustrating the composer's personal history. sew with the help of archetypal characters such as Death, Love or the Devil. In addition to private life story paintings, Beethoven's production is based on a depiction of the composer's torturous deafness and artistic crisis. At the same time, Radačovský reflects on the natural inspirational sources of Beethoven's work in large areas or interprets his music as a political instrument of selected historical epochs. Isn't it too much for one production and can it all be managed? |
