Description | This paper focuses on literary representations of the environmental crisis hyperobject through the hybridisation of humans and nature in selected literary works while analysing two fundamental methods: the decentralisation of humans and the anthropomorphisation of nature. First, the benefits and possible issues of nature's anthropomorphisation will be approached from a cognitive point of view regarding its potential overlap with the actual world, to which the work with the concepts of anthropomorphic belief and anthropomorphic interaction will contribute. Following examples of these methods in contemporary environmental literature will highlight their complementarity in texts seeking to depict hyperobjects and overcome dualism. |
