Description | The Institute of Musicology anounces the International musicological colloquium "Keeping the Music Alive: Preserving Musical Manuscripts" commemorating the 102th anniversary of the Music Archive of the Moravian Museum (now the Department of the History of Music) and 100th anniversary of the Seminar of Musicology of the Masaryk University (now the Institute of Musicology). The conference focuses on the work of museum institutions that keep music collections and expertly organize their music funds. Papers are welcome concerning the history of institutions and their role in creating specific research spheres of music and culture in general. This also involves the problems of deposition, registering and cataloguing of music sources and other items, their processing and possibilities of further use in the musical practice (catalogues, critical editions, databases etc.). |
