Description | The spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection has caused an ongoing global pandemic. The main symptoms of the disease include fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, hypogeusia and hyposmia. Extrapulmonary symptoms also include dermatological manifestations. The pathogenic mechanisms are not fully known, the role of hyperactive immune response, complement activation and microvascular damage are considered . Based on data from available literature, skin lesions were divided into several main groups: urticarial rash, confluent erythematous - maculopapular - morbilliform rash, vesicular rash, chillblain-like acral lesions (Covid's fingers - erythema and edema in the acral parts of the body), livedo reticularis / racemosa and vasculitic manifestations. Worsening of existing skin diagnoses (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis), hair loss and rarely nail changes are often described. Also, there are many secondary dermatoses associated with strict hygiene measures (eg contact eczema, xerosis) or as a result of wearing protective equipment (acne). Department 25, I.DVK operated from 10 / 2020-5 / 2021 (8 months) as a standard covid inpatient department for FNUSA. During the operation of the ward, patients were also monitored for skin manifestations related to Covid-19. A total of 300 patients were examined, and skin manifestations of Covid-19 were observed in 18 of them (6%). The most common skin problem in patients was maculopapular rash on the trunk (44%). |
