| Description | The paper is devoted to a brief historical overview of International Sanitary Conventions and their development, reflecting the current epidemic situation in the world. It also presents their transformation into International Health Regulations. Following on from the previous ones, it discusses the current situation - the threats posed by the emergence and spread of new and reemerging infectious diseases, and society's preparedness for the public health threat of so-called Disease X. |
