Description | The Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God is a Catholic religious order specializing in healthcare provision. It was established in Granada, Spain in 1572. The talk aims to describe the impact of World War I on the everyday life and operation of the Order’s healthcare facilities in its former Hungarian Province. World War I affected the Order’s healthcare facilities (hospitals and pharmacies) in several ways. The wartime primarily impacted the personal situation and organization of the work in the Order’s hospitals and pharmacies. After World War I, the Order’s life was significantly changed by the new organization of the Order’s provinces in Central Europe. |
