Description | The invited lecture presented partial results of the Czech part of the international Hope Barometer research project, the aim of which was to determine the level of hope and mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic and to reveal which coping strategies contribute to maintaining hope and well-being. The representative sample consisted of 692 Czech adults aged 18 to 86 (44% men). The data were obtained using an online anonymous questionnaire in November 2021. The results of the analyzes showed that coping strategies such as active approach and using social support, acceptance, and humor positively predicted the level of hope, while resignation, self-blame and substance use served as negative predictors of hope. Finally, specific recommendations were made to maintain mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic. |
