Description | The themes and methods of economic history and the history of money have an established place in historical research. The methodology is mainly based on sources of an economic nature or is related to the study of the currencies themselves. This workshop will focus on themes which are closely linked to money, coins and financial deeds, as well as their clerical production. Or aim is for diplomatics to become established in an area which is normally the domain of economic history and numismatics. We hope to provide another perspective on the economic circumstances of medieval Europe. The following thematic areas will be examined: a) deeds related to the minting, distribution, circulation and use of coinage (coinage privileges, coinage regulations, expressing currency units in deeds, etc.); b) deeds related to financial transactions, the origin of these deeds, their typology and methods of use; c) issues related to financing the ordinary production of deeds (clerical taxes, bribes, etc.). |
